The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out A Window And Disappeared, Jonas Jonasson

This book is just silly and fun.  The main character, Allan Karlsson, is basically a Swedish Forest Gump. The narrative weaves from Allan’s current adventure to the unbelievable adventures from his past.

The narrator was excellent, but every character from every nationality has a British accent.  I was pretty amused when LBJ popped up–quite a change from the southern twang we always associate with him!

There’s also a movie–in Swedish with subtitles.  However, as is often the case,  the movie was much different, and I found the book much better (and more charming!) than the movie.

I am a 40-something lawyer and mom of 3 teenage girls. I love exploring new places, and when I can't be on the road, I'm planning my next trip. Over the years, I've learned a lot about how to travel in a pack of five. Our trips range from budget-friendly road trips with the family, to more luxurious trips for work, either solo or with my husband, Kenny.
